Preorder Raising a Readers NEW Native Collections

10.15.2026 Press Releases

Children deserve to see a wide range of families, cultures and experiences reflected in the books they read—and to discover stories that open the door to conversation, connection and learning.

Raising a Reader’s Native collections feature books by Native authors and illustrators, as well as stories about Native children and experiences. Designed for children in PreK–2, the collections can support classroom libraries, family literacy, shared reading and social-emotional learning.

Schools and programs can choose from:

  • Native Collection: 10–20 books for a classroom library or Classic Red Book Bag Program
  • Native Family Shared Reading Program: six books plus a family reading guide, journal, crayons and drawstring bag to encourage families to read and share stories together
  • Social Emotional Home Library Kit with Native Books: three books, a social emotional family guide and a stuffed animal dog companion to support connection and social-emotional development

Whether books are shared in a classroom, sent home with families or used as part of a community program, each collection is designed to create more opportunities for children and caregivers to connect through reading.
