What happens when a family makes reading part of their daily routine? Kids start asking for it. Parents discover moments they didn’t know they had. And communities grow stronger — one book at a time.

We’re proud to share Raising a Reader’s 2025 Impact Report, a look at how shared reading shaped the lives of more than 150,000 families across the country last year.

The data tells a powerful story: Families read together nearly 50% more often after they have gone through a Raising a Reader program, and time spent reading together increased by 60% . But the numbers only tell part of it. The real story lives in the voices of the families we serve — the parent in North Carolina whose kids now remind her it’s time to read, the Massachusetts family learning Spanish words together before bed, the Minnesota children who now have library cards.
